STEMinists Go Green/ Introduction to Sustainability, Grades 3-5 
Mondays 3:45-5:15pm 
February 6, 13, 27, March 6, 13, 20

Each week will include a real world sustainability challenge, hands-on projects (think solar ovens, green roofs, vivariums) focused on addressing the challenge using STEM concepts, and an opportunity to test hypotheses, problem solve, and identify potential solutions. Session will showcase innovative solutions at work in the world today.

Areas of Exploration:  Areas of Exploration: Climate change, green building, waste reduction, water conservation, renewable energy, ecosystems, social systems, economics, problem solving. Class Format: Six 90-min. meetings, once per week.  Tuition: $175 tuition plus $30 supply fee per student, max 10 students.

Girls For Good is a social enterprise to engage girls in the exciting journey to discover, explore, and create sustainable solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. Sustainability is the crucial intersection between the protecting the environment, advancing society, and developing the economy. Creative sustainability solutions will be found by inspiring the next generation of girls with hands-on experience in science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) focused on changing the world.

Girls for Good partners with elementary schools, parent teacher associations (PTA), and organizations to provide after school programs. Six-to-eight weeklong sessions in the fall, winter, and spring will introduce girls to a broad sustainability curriculum.
